Mill Road

The A24

The A24 road between Mill Road and Folly Lane is haunted. Firstly, by a man killed whilst riding his horse, and secondly by the ghost that caused the accident! As he lay dying, the rider claimed to those tending him, that his horse was spooked by the appearance of “a tall black man” which vanished in front of him. Locals claimed that the “tall black man” was an Aborigine, although why he chose to appear here, or why the villagers came to this conclusion, is somewhat odd in itself.

The bizarre scene of the accident is replayed for those in the right place at the right time. However, could this be a case of a ghost of a ghost?
